A man has been arrested in Karnataka for allegedly slitting the throat of his friend and drinking his blood, after suspecting him of having an affair with his wife, officials said.

Police said Vijay suspected his friend Maresh of having an illicit relationship with his wife. He asked Maresh to meet him to discuss the matter, but their discussion soon escalated into a heated argument and Vijay slit Mahesh’s throat with a sharp-edged weapon in a fit of rage.

He then attempted to drink his blood, officials said.

The incident was caught on camera by the passersby near a crossing in Chintamani Taluk.

The video shows Maresh lying on the ground with his throat cut open. Vijay appears to be questioning him about something.

He bends down and attempts to drink the blood oozing out from Maresh’s bruised throat, the video shows.

Vijay is also seen punching and slapping the injured man.

He was arrested after the chilling video went viral on social media. A case of attempt to murder has been registered against Vijay at the Kencharlahalli police station, while Maresh is undergoing treatment, officials said.
