This is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ndtv.com\/bangalore-news\/watch-heavy-rain-in-bengaluru-causes-waterlogging-3299627\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">second time in a week <\/a>that the Karnataka state capital is witnessing such severe waterlogging.<\/p>\n<p>Many arterial roads were inundated while the basements of apartments were flooded after the rainfall last night.\u00a0A traffic advisory urged residents to avoid going out of their homes except for emergency, and not to send children to school.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/WATCH?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#WATCH<\/a> | Karnataka: Massive traffic jam on Marathahalli-Silk Board junction road in Bengaluru amid severe waterlogging caused due to heavy rainfall <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/KUnF0cuPtR\">pic.twitter.com\/KUnF0cuPtR<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 ANI (@ANI) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ANI\/status\/1566625463576850432?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 5, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Outer Ring Road near Ecospace, Bellandur, KR Market, Silk Board junction, and Varthur are among the areas affected. The IT corridor too is waterlogged whereas several houses are inundated in HBR Layout.<\/p>\n<p>Visuals showed buses stuck in the middle of a\u00a0flooded Old Airport Road. The road was submerged after last week&#8217;s rainfall too and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai had visited it two days ago. More than 30 apartment complexes and their basements are waterlogged in Mahadevapura.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Traffic movement is affected along Whitefield main road, Old Airport Road,\u00a0Balagere main road, Sarjapur road, and Yemalur main road.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ins_instory_dv\">\n<div class=\"ins_instory_dv_cont\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"rnknlnb\" id=\"story_image_main\" class=\"lozad\" src=\"https:\/\/c.ndtvimg.com\/2022-09\/rnknlnb_bengaluru-rain_625x300_05_September_22.jpg\"\/><\/div>\n<p class=\"ins_instory_dv_caption\">Sarjapur Road<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Several firms, including Goldman Sachs and Swiggy, have asked their staff to work from home, reported Reuters citing unnamed employees.<\/p>\n<p>Bengaluru witnessed a similar situation last Tuesday as heavy rains led to waterlogging in several parts of the city.\u00a0Trees were found uprooted while schools and colleges remained shut.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ins_instory_dv\">\n<div class=\"ins_instory_dv_cont\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"k4c8frb\" id=\"story_image_main\" class=\"lozad\" src=\"https:\/\/c.ndtvimg.com\/2022-09\/k4c8frb_bengaluru-rain_625x300_05_September_22.jpg\"\/><\/div>\n<p class=\"ins_instory_dv_caption\">Sarjapur Road<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>This led to losses worth hundreds of crores, IT and banking firms had said in a letter to the Chief Minister.\u00a0&#8220;We&#8217;ll call the IT companies and speak with them related to issues they&#8217;re facing (due to waterlogging). We&#8217;ll discuss the compensation and other related damages caused due to rain,&#8221; Mr Bommai told news agency ANI today.<\/p>\n<p>The weather office has predicted heavy rainfall till September 9 across Karnataka, especially in Bengaluru, and coastal parts of the state.
