(File)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><b class=\"place_cont\">Vadodara: <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Foreign Minister S Jaishankar today took an IT-versus-IT swipe at &#8220;a neighbouring country&#8221; in apparent reference to Pakistan. He called it &#8220;an expert in international terrorism&#8221;, while India &#8220;is an expert in information technology&#8221;.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/WATCH?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#WATCH<\/a> | We&#8217;ve a neighbour, like we&#8217;re expert in IT (information technology) they&#8217;re expert in &#8216;international terrorists&#8217;. Countries using terrorism are under pressure.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He added, &#8220;It (terrorism against India) has been going on for years, but we have lately been more successful explaining to the world that it has a global impact \u2014 that if today it is us, tomorrow it will be you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr Jaishankar recently returned after attending UN meetings and other events in the US, where he raised questions over the US-Pakistan relationship.\u00a0&#8220;It&#8217;s neither ended up serving Pakistan well nor serving the American interests,&#8221; he said at an event organised by the Indian American community in Washington.<\/p>\n<p>He was responding to questions by the audience on the decision of the Joe Biden administration to provide a &#8220;sustenance package&#8221; for Pakistan&#8217;s F-16 fighter jets bought from the US.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For someone to say &#8216;I am doing this because it is all counter-terrorism content&#8217;&#8230; and so when you are talking of an aircraft like F-16&#8230;. everybody knows, you know, where they are deployed and their use. You are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ndtv.com\/india-news\/s-jaishankar-f-16-not-fooling-anybody-s-jaishankar-on-us-fighter-plane-deal-with-pak-3377931\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">not fooling anybody<\/a> by saying these things,&#8221; Mr Jaishankar said.<\/p>\n<p>The previous Donald Trump administration had blocked the $450 million programme for maintenance of the F-16s, which Pakistan bought decades ago.<\/p>\n<p>The US has since denied that\u00a0the US-Pakistan defence cooperation was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ndtv.com\/india-news\/pakistan-f-16-package-not-message-to-india-over-its-neutrality-on-russia-says-us-3369975\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a message to India<\/a> for its neutrality on Russia in the Ukraine invasion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\n<br \/>[ad_2]<br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ndtv.com\/india-news\/neighbour-expert-in-terror-indian-foreign-ministers-swipe-at-pakistan-3395851\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[ad_1] S Jaishankar, Minister for External Affairs, says terror anywhere has global implications.
