Billionaire Elon Musk, Tesla chief and the new owner of Twitter, in his first big move following his $44 billion acquisition of the social media giant<\/a> after over six months of public drama, immediately fired the former Chief Executive Officer Parag Agrawal along with several other top leaders. Social media users, especially in India, have started a massive meme fest taking pot shots at Mr Agrawal.<\/p>\n

Manglam Tiwari, a Twitter user, took a jibe at the former Twitter chief with a meme showing popular Bollywood actor Amrish Puri saying he should start preparing for a government job.<\/p>\n

“Doesn’t matter if you are CEO of a gaint social media platform.\u00a0

Another user shared a clip of the recent dramatic removal of China’s former leader Hu Jintao from the party Congress. Parag Agrawal’s face was superimposed on Hu Jintao and Elon Musk’s face on current leader Xi Jinping.<\/p>\n

Hollywood movie references also made an appearance. A user posted a meme where Elon Musk is depicted as Thanos, the supervillain in Marvel’s “Avengers” film. It shows Mr Musk snap his fingers and Twitter employees vanishing, like in the action film.<\/p>\n

Bloomberg reported that departures include Twitter Chief Executive Officer Parag Agrawal; Vijaya Gadde, the head of legal, policy and trust; Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal, who joined Twitter in 2017; and Sean Edgett, who has been general counsel at Twitter since 2012.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mr Edgett was escorted out of the building, Bloomberg said, quoting sources.<\/p>\n
