By India Today Web Desk<\/b><\/a>: Legendary Brazilian star and two-time FIFA World Cup winner Ronaldo has heaped praise on France\u2019s Kylian Mbappe, saying he reminds him of his playing days. The Brazilian also picked France as his favorites to lift the 2022 FIFA World Cup trophy.<\/p>\n

Speaking ahead of the semi-finals, Ronaldo said Mbappe reminds him of when he played, pointing out that he uses his speed very well. <\/p>\n

\u201cI was talking about how fast he is and how good he is and how he reminds me when I played before. So, he knows how to use his ability, you know, how to go faster than the others and use that ability to assist or score,\u201d said Ronaldo.<\/p>\n

O Fenomeno said France is his favorite to win the World Cup, while Mbappe is his pick to win the best player award.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think France is the favourite one to win the World Cup, as I told before the World Cup started. And Mbappe, for me, is going to be the best player for the World Cup,\u201d Ronaldo added.<\/p>\n

Asked if he\u2019d be happy with Lionel Messi and Argentina winning the World Cup, Ronaldo said he\u2019s a football romantic and will accept any champion.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, I will be happy for him. But, you know, we have a great rivalry between Brazil and Argentina. So I will not be a Portuguese hypocrite to say that I will be happy for Argentina, but it’s not true. But of course, I see football as a romantic, you know. Of course, I will accept and I will enjoy any champion,\u201d said Ronaldo.<\/p>\n

Finally, Ronaldo praised England for their effort against France in the quarter-final stage, saying the English people should be proud of their team.<\/p>\n

\u201cEngland played very, very good football against France. I think it’s happening the same as what happened with Brazil. I think England played very good, but at the end, you know, small details change the whole result of the match. But the English people should be proud of the World Cup they played,\u201d Ronaldo added.<\/p>\n
