In an escalating row between the Congress’s two top leaders in Rajasthan, Sachin Pilot today questioned why Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s government had not acted on corruption charges against the BJP’s Vasundhara Raje.<\/p>\n

“The government must act on the charges against Vasundhara Raje. There is still one year to go,” Sachin Pilot said, speaking at the Jaipur Lit Fest.<\/p>\n

“When we were in the opposition we raised issues of corruption against Vasundhara Raje. But in four years, we did not manage to act against her. There is still one year to go,” Mr Pilot said.<\/p>\n

The remarks come after a video showed Ashok Gehlot saying that a “big coronavirus” entered the party after the pandemic, without naming his rival.<\/p>\n

“I have resumed meetings…earlier there was corona …a big corona also entered our party,” Mr Gehlot was heard telling people at a pre-budget meeting.<\/p>\n

The bitter words from both leaders signal a widening rift dogging the Congress ahead of the Rajasthan election later this year.<\/p>\n

Mr Pilot launched a solo campaign in Rajasthan for the polls, where he has taken a few shots at his government<\/p>\n
