In the quarterfinals, they fought back from a set down to secure a victory against the Dutch pair of Tallon Griekspoor and Bart Stevens with a score of 6-7(3), 7-5, 6-2.<br \/>While this was a notable performance for Bopanna, it fell short of his quest to become the oldest <!-- -->Grand Slam<!-- --> champion in the Open Era across singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.<\/p>\n<div data-pos=\"0\" class=\"id-r-component QbQNS undefined  &#10;        \">\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Tennis\" msid=\"101735548\" width=\"600\" title=\"\" placeholdersrc=\"https:\/\/static.toiimg.com\/photo\/42706777.gif\" imgsize=\"23456\" resizemode=\"4\" offsetvertical=\"0\" placeholdermsid=\"\" type=\"thumb\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/static.toiimg.com\/thumb\/imgsize-23456,msid-101735548,width-600,resizemode-4\/101735548.jpg\" data-api-prerender=\"true\"\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Bopanna, the only Indian in fray at the Wimbledon, had reached the final of the Australian Open earlier this year in the mixed doubles category alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/sania-mirza\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" data-ga=\"Click-Hyperlink|link_topic-Sania Mirza-https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/sania-mirza\" target=\"\" frmappuse=\"1\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sania Mirza<\/a>.<br \/>Additionally, he has won two ATP titles in men&#8217;s doubles partnering with Matthew Ebden.
