Elon Musk’s<\/a> Twitter logo rebranding became the talk of the town. Earlier this week, the iconic blue bird was replaced by the letter \u2018X’.<\/a> Now,\u00a0 the city of San Francisco has launched an investigation into the giant logo that was installed on top of Twitter headquarters (downtown building).\u00a0<\/p>\n

As per city officials, if a company is planning to change a sign or replace a logo they need to first take permission \u201c\u00a0 for design and safety reasons\u201d, reported news agency AP.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the Department of Building Inspection\u00a0 said, \u201cAny replacement letters or symbols would require a permit to ensure consistency with the historic nature of the building and to make sure additions are safely attached to the sign.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cPlanning review and approval is also necessary for the installation of this sign. The city is opening a complaint and initiating an investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elon Musk \u2014 who bought\u00a0\u00a0Twitter for $44 billion last October \u2014 announced last week that the logo will be changed. After \u2018X’ went live on Monday, CEO\u00a0Linda Yaccarino, in a series of tweets, said, \u201cX is the future state of unlimited interactivity \u2013 centred in audio, video, messaging, payments\/banking \u2013 creating a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities. Powered by AI, X will connect us all in ways we’re just beginning to imagine.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cIt’s an exceptionally rare thing \u2013 in life or in business \u2013 that you get a second chance to make another big impression. Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate. Now, X will go further, transforming the global town square.\u201d<\/p>\n
