The match also established a new record for the shortest Test in the history of cricket, spanning only 642 balls.<br \/>Ashwin on Friday was nominated for the <!-- -->ICC Test Cricketer of the Year<!-- --> award along with Australian players Travis Head, Usman Khawaja and England senior batsman Joe Root<!-- -->.<br \/>Ashwin ended the year as the top Test bowler in the ICC Rankings, taking
