Ram achieved the top ranking in October 2022 at the age of 38.<\/p>\n<p>Bopanna will be crowned the new numero uno on Monday after the end of the tournament.<br \/>Bopanna, having achieved the world No. 3 ranking for the first time in 2013, is set to join the elite club of Indian tennis players, including <!-- -->Leander Paes<!-- -->, <!-- -->Mahesh Bhupathi<!-- -->, and <!-- -->Sania Mirza<!-- -->, who have previously held the world No. 1 rank in doubles.<br \/>His journey to the top position involves taking over from the USA&#8217;s Austin Krajicek, who, along with Croatian partner Ivan Dodig, exited the tournament in the second round.<br \/>While Bopanna has clinched a mixed doubles title at the French Open in 2017, a men&#8217;s doubles title has eluded him thus far.
