Jadeja suffered a hamstring injury during the first Test match and that resulted in him missing the second match that India won comprehensively in Visakhapatnam. With the five-match series placed perfectly at 1-1, India will benefit immensely from Jadeja making a comeback from injury. The cricketer posted a picture of himself from the National Cricket Academy along with the caption – “Getting better #NCA,”.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah<\/a> became the first Indian pacer to top the ICC Test rankings after a stellar performance against England in Visakhapatnam.<\/p>\n The 30-year-old’s nine-wicket match haul has helped him leapfrog Pat Cummins<\/a>, Kagiso Rabada<\/a> and Ravichandran Ashwin<\/a>, making him only the fourth from his country to attain number one position.<\/p>\n Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Bishan Singh Bedi are the other Indians who have been at the top of the charts.<\/p>\n
Bumrah, who was named Player of the Match after helping India level the five-match series with a 106-run victory, ended Ashwin’s 11-month long reign. Ashwin, on 499 Test wickets, is now third in the standings.<\/p>\n Bumrah now has 881 rating points with Ashwin (904) and Jadeja (899) the only India bowlers to have aggregated more rating points.
