<\/div>\nEngland were outplayed by India on Day 1 of Dharamsala Test\u00a9 AFP<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n England cricket team\u00a0assistant coach Marcus\u00a0Trescothick made a bizarre claim that they will not study their opponents much after India dominated proceedings on Day 1 of the fifth Test match in Dharamsala on Thursday. England squandered a solid start as Kuldeep Yadav<\/a> and Ravichandran Ashwin<\/a> bundled them out for just 218. Later, Yashasvi Jaiswal<\/a> and Rohit Sharma<\/a> both scored half-centuries as the hosts took control of the match. Trescothick said that England are looking to ‘stay level’ and make a comeback but pointed out that they are a unique side who will not look too much into their opponents.<\/p>\n “We are a very unique side in how we go about things. I don’t think we will study what India do too much.”<\/p>\n “We don’t get too down when we have bad days, we don’t get too high when we have good days.”<\/p>\n “You just have to stay level and recognise what you can do better. Hopefully we come back and improve,” said Trescothick after the match.<\/p>\n Trescothick also found some positives for England on Day 1 of the match as he pointed out how the visitors batted in the first session with special praise for Zak Crawley<\/a>. However, he was quick to say that England did not get enough partnerships to take them to a big total.<\/p>\n “We had some good things – the way we played up until lunch when the ball swung around more than we expected, Crawley getting that score.”<\/p>\n “We just didn’t get those partnerships going to get a big score and put the total on the board we needed to.”<\/p>\n “It was a challenging day, no doubt about that,” said Trescothick.<\/p>\n
