New Delhi: <\/b><\/p>\n

Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader K Kavitha – arrested in March in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam – has been sent to custody of the Central Bureau of Investigation for three days.<\/p>\n

Ms Kavitha, who is ex-Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter, is accused of being part of a ‘south group’ that paid crores as bribes to Delhi’s ruling Aam Aadmi Party for liquor licences under the now-scrapped policy. The ED believes the AAP used this money to fund poll campaigns, and has arrested three senior leaders, including Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in this regard.<\/p>\n

Ms Kavitha was arrested – in dramatic circumstances, which involved a spat between her brother KT Rama Rao and a team of ED officials – from Hyderabad last month and sent to the agency’s custody. She was arrested by the CBI – while in Delhi’s Tihar Jail on judicial custody – on Thursday evening.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
