Instagram has introduced\u00a0some\u00a0new features for\u00a0‘Stories,’\u00a0providing users with multiple\u00a0new\u00a0ways to connect with friends and followers on the social media platform.<\/p>\n
Among the new creative options to engage with each other is the\u00a0‘Reveal’\u00a0feature that allows users to post a hidden Story, which your followers can uncover only by sending you a DM.<\/p>\n
How does it work?<\/b><\/h2>\n
To access the\u00a0all-new feature while creating a story, click on the stickers icon and then tap on the icon that says\u00a0‘Reveal’.<\/p>\n
Once you click on it, the app will prompt you to type a hint for your friends regarding what they might find behind your blurred story. Here, users have also been provided with the\u00a0‘Preview’\u00a0icon in the bottom left corner to take a look at how your story will appear to your followers.<\/p>\n
Once the Story\u00a0is posted, your followers\u00a0will only be able to\u00a0see its content when they send you a DM.\u00a0Instagram, however, has noted that\u00a0“you\u00a0won’t\u00a0need to approve every DM for your story to\u00a0be revealed.”<\/p>\n
While this can be a unique way to start a conversation, the feature\u00a0is expected\u00a0to benefit creators, who now have a chance to engage more with their followers through Stories. At the same time, they should not be worried about getting thousands of DMs.<\/p>\n
Add Yours Music<\/b><\/h2>\n
Instagram has also\u00a0come up with\u00a0the\u00a0\u201cAdd\u00a0Yours\u00a0Music\u201d\u00a0
Here are quick steps to use it:<\/b><\/h2>\n
Step 1.\u00a0Click on the stickers icon and tap\u00a0on the icon which\u00a0says\u00a0‘Add Yours Music’.<\/p>\n
Step 2.\u00a0After\u00a0you select it, click on\u00a0‘+ \/ Add Music’\u00a0to\u00a0select\u00a0a song from the\u00a0app’s\u00a0music library.<\/p>\n
Step 3.\u00a0Once the story\u00a0is posted, your followers can add their own song with the help of\u00a0‘Add\u00a0Yours’\u00a0button.<\/p>\n
In addition to that, Instagram users also get access to the\u00a0‘Frames’\u00a0feature, which turns a photograph into a virtual Polaroid.<\/p>\n
Your followers will be able to view the image by shaking their smartphone. If you\u00a0don’t\u00a0wish to shake the handset, you\u00a0are also\u00a0provided\u00a0with\u00a0the\u00a0‘Shake to reveal’\u00a0button. The new feature has majorly\u00a0been designed\u00a0for sharing a throwback post.<\/p>\n
As you select the image to feature, the\u00a0‘Frames’\u00a0sticker automatically adds the date and timestamp of when this image\u00a0was taken. Besides, users also get the option to add a caption on the virtual Polaroid.<\/p>\n
Next, the platform has also\u00a0come up with\u00a0a\u00a0‘Cutouts’\u00a0feature, wherein users\u00a0get the option of turning\u00a0part of any video or photograph in their camera roll into a custom sticker, which they can add to a Story or a Reel.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This\u00a0bears resemblance to\u00a0Apple’s\u00a0image cutout tool that allows users to\u00a0‘pick up’\u00a0an object from a photograph or a video.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
