The security for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled to be held in the USA and West Indies, has been tightened following a threat from terror group ISIS-K earlier this year. Notably, the mega event received a security threat earlier this year, particularly for the high voltage clash between India and Pakistan on June 9 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York.<\/p>\n
However, Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman has assured that their team has rigorously planned the security and health care concerns for the massive influx of fans the tournament is going to experience.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is like the Super Bowl on steroids. There will be teams from all over the world coming in. There will be fans from all over the world coming to Nassau County \u00e2\u0080\u00e6 we have been meeting for well over six months on a regular basis to talk about security concerns and health care concerns, which could potentially arise at any kind of event of this magnitude,\u201d Bruce Blakeman was quoted as saying by CNN.<\/p>\n
Blakeman further revealed about county\u2019s coordinated efforts to tighten the security along with federal partners such as the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and other law enforcement and homeland security and intelligence agencies<\/p>\n
\u201cWe take every threat seriously. There are the same procedures for every threat. To that end, we have taken many, many precautions as well as making sure that the stadium and the surrounding Eisenhower Park are safe,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick J. Ryder acknowledged the threat<\/a><\/strong> and assured fans of the robust security deployed to prevent mishaps.<\/p>\n \u201cI can guarantee you this. This is the largest security we\u2019ve ever had to do in this county\u2019s history, and I can also guarantee you this \u2013 the safest place to be in Nassau County on June 9th will be inside that stadium,\u201d Ryder said.<\/p>\n The T20 World Cup will begin on June 1 with the hosts USA and Canada taking on each other in the curtain raiser at Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas. Meanwhile, India will start their campaign against Ireland<\/a><\/strong> on June 05 at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York.<\/p>\n
