USA shocked Pakistan in the Group A clash of the T20 World Cup 2024. USA were stunning with both bat and ball, to not only tie Pakistan’s 159-run total but then beat them with an exhilarating performance in the Super Over. Pakistan fans were not happy with the performance of several players and slammed the side on social media.<\/p>\n

Pakistan captain Babar Azam was to blame for their terrible outing in the powerplay. Babar batted with a strike-rate of 26 in the first 6 overs and then barely went over a SR of 100 at the time of getting out. The misery was piled on by poor performances from Fakhar Zaman, Azam Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed and Pakistan were only able to manage 159 runs against USA – who are currently playing their first World Cup.<\/p>\n

With the ball, Pakistan only took 3 wickets in the second innings as the USA tied the scores with Pakistan after an exhilarating final over. Aaron Jones and Nitish Kumar were able to score 11 runs off the final three balls to force the match into the Super Over. <\/p>\n

In the Super Over, Pakistan lost their bearings and failed with both bat and ball to lose the match by 5 runs. The fans on social media were scathing in their criticism and slammed the Pakistan players for their terrible outing. The fans called Pakistan’s performance embarrassing on several levels.<\/p>\n

Pakistan were expected to win against USA, Canada and Ireland in Group A. However, their loss vs USA makes things extremely complicated for them in the Group. Only two teams can go through to the Super 8 stage, and USA seem to be the firm favourites alongside India to go to the next stage.<\/p>\n
