Babar Azam-led Pakistan were knocked out of the T20 World Cup 2024 in the group stage of the tournament. Pakistan’s fate was sealed after USA vs Ireland was washed out due to rain at Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Friday, 14 June. After Pakistan fell to an agonising knockout, former cricketers from the country took to Twitter to show their anger, disappointment and shock.<\/p>\n

Pakistan struggled to put in good performances in the tournament. Pakistan’s journey in the tournament began with a disappointing loss to the United States in the Super Over on June 6. Despite being the 2009 champions, they were unable to recover from this early setback. The USA’s victory was historic, as they had never beaten Pakistan before in a T20 match.<\/p>\n

Pakistan were handed a double bowl to their chances after they lost to India in the group stage, in their second match. And on Friday, they were eventually knocked out. Former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal slammed the side stating that they played below-par cricket.<\/p>\n

“It is really very disappointing and sad that Pakistan team could not reach to the Super Eight, but it is also a bitter fact that Pakistan team played below the average cricket\u00e2\u0080\u00e6now its time to rectify the problems,” Kamran Akmal said on Twitter.<\/p>\n

“The deserving team is through to Super 8 round. If you’re depending on Ireland to defeat someone, you seriously don’t deserve to qualify. Don’t think even “Kudrat Ka Nizam” works for those who are not deserving or ready to improve. All eyes on PCB chairman now,” Ahmad Shahzad came down hard on the PCB after the loss.<\/p>\n
