Deepti Sharma said that India would not be approaching their last ODI against South Africa as a dead rubber. Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. have already claimed the 3-match series after winning the second ODI on June 19 by 4 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The match went down to the wire where Pooja Vastrakar held his nerves to take India home.<\/p>\n

Prior to the third game of the series, Deepti said that it is important for India to carry the momentum into the one-off Test to be held from June 28 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, we have won the series but we will not approach this match as one of academic interest. We look to learn from whatever opportunities we get, as we will be going into the one-off Test (in Chennai) later this week,\u201d Deepti said in the pre-match press conference.<\/p>\n

\u2018Love to tackle pressure\u2019<\/b><\/h3>\n

Deepti, herself, has been in decent form as he is the leading wicket-taker of the ODI series. The off-break is currently the joint-highest wicket-taker in the series along with Asha Sobhana with 4 wickets to her name.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love to tackle pressure situations. My thought process is very clear. I always want to make the team win or place the team in a winning position, whether it is with my batting or bowling,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Deepti also lauded the Indian batters for understanding the conditions well and moulding their game as per that. Their opener Smriti Mandhana has looked in red-hot form after racking up back-to-back hundreds.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe openers played as per the conditions. The ball was moving around a little bit in the initial overs, and they played within themselves. They adapted well. After 10-12 overs, we built some good partnerships. They used every scoring opportunity in that area and that\u2019s a positive for us \u2013 the way we capitalised later on,\u201d Deepti added.<\/p>\n
