Lionel Messi (Argentina)

The nickname “Messiah” is given to the one-and-only Lionel Messi. With his electric dribbling and legendary goal-scoring abilities, Messi is a “God” to all Argentines and his fans worldwide. Recently, Messi broke the world cup assist record which was earlier held by Cristiano Ronaldo. So far in this World Cup, Messi has scored two goals. After a shock loss to Saudi Arabia in their tournament opener, the Albiceleste bounced back to beat Mexico 2-0, thanks largely to the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner who scored the first goal and then assisted Enzo Fernandez for his first senior international goal. The win saw the two time champions wrap up all 3 points and keep their hopes of progressing to the last 16 alive.
